There’s something incredibly special about working with reclaimed wood. Every piece I choose has already lived a life, shaped by time, weather, texture and history. The grain, knots and markings aren’t flaws; they are stories waiting to be continued.

When I begin a new artwork, I don’t start with a blank canvas. I start with character. The natural lines in the wood often guide the composition, influencing where an animal will sit, how light will fall, or which direction the piece will flow. In many ways, the wood and I collaborate.

My inspiration has always come from the natural world. Wildlife, woodland creatures and beloved pets feature strongly in my work because they connect us to something grounding and timeless. Painting them onto reclaimed materials feels fitting, nature returning to nature.

Sustainability is at the heart of what I do. Choosing reclaimed wood isn’t just an aesthetic decision; it’s a conscious one. I love the idea that something once discarded can be transformed into something meaningful and treasured.

Each piece is entirely hand-painted, carefully built up in layers to bring depth, realism and warmth. No two pieces are ever the same, and that uniqueness is something I truly value. When someone takes one of my artworks home, they’re not just buying a painting,

they’re welcoming a story, a piece of nature, and a little bit of history into their space.
